Remembering through my nose

I fell in love with Henry V when I saw the Branagh movie in the 90s, but only read the other plays when I started thinking how to adapt them into a novel. The Henry IVs are awesome, and I've only just started digging into Richard II which is really poetic and interesting.

It's where that whole "this England" speech comes from, at the end of The Scarlet Pimpernel (1:28:44).

I checked my Shakespeares to see if I had a paper copy of Richard II, and lo and behold I have one of my oldest--a copy from my grandfather, the Shakespeare prof.

I stuck my nose into it and smelled my grandfather's home. Some of my best childhood memories are of sitting on the floor in the back bedroom, digging through shelves of books. Scent really is the most amazing memory trigger.

Minion is more a fan of the comedies
