so you open upSpring is my favorite season. I don't just love the return of warm weather, but I love it symbolically. Love the whole birth and rebirth thing. It's fitting that I came out to Nanaimo in spring, and I'm returning to Montreal in spring.
your windows and doors
and the sun and the breeze
streams across the floors
the river is rising
the birds are returning
the earth is promising
Love (Jane Siberry)
We've had a few spring days here this past month. Not that it's ever that cold--it doesn't get below 0 anymore--but there's a difference between air from the north, and air from the south. You can smell it.
You can tell people are getting restless. The gardening books are selling, the capris and dresses are selling, and this past Saturday there was a hectic feeling in the store. Lots of noise and confusion and kidlets.
As usual when the warm weather comes in I think of the line: "People are like flowers--they blossom in the sun."
For those still being dumped on by snow, or chilled out by winds, or simply depressed because winter does that to us, here's my annual Jane Siberry posting...
